Van of the Month
This month, our favourite small van goes to the Citroen Nemo with its narrow body and perfectly proportioned load space. The Nemo’s trademark rounded edges and square body is synonymous with the French auto manufacturer and is available in a range of attractive colours. Its size is perfect for smaller companies looking to provide delivery services; it could also be equally exciting as an addition to any fleet.
The Citroen Nemo
Similar to a number of other commercial Citroen’s, the Nemo has a great economy with low fuel consumption. As all van owners pay the same VED regardless of the CO2 emissions created, this model will set the owner back about £220 a year in VED. On a van this size and with service intervals at 20,000 miles/two years, expect insurance to range from the 2E to 4E range.
Practicality is the key word in this little number. Although mini, this LCV is a mighty piece of machinery. With two unglazed asymmetric rear doors as standard on all models and a ladder-type bulkhead behind the driver’s seat, the Nemo is well-designed for most jobs. The rear doors also open up to 180 degrees which enable access from every side.
Value for Money
At just over £12,000 for a new model, the Citroen Nemo is exceptional value for money. Its firm ride and simple manoeuvrability makes it easy to navigate through both rural and urban landscapes.
